First Training Event of 2017
9th April 2017
We had 6 boats out in Howth for our first training event of 2017. new navigators and 2 new drivers completed their first stage of race training. Studying race laws, practicing M.O.B manoeuvres and race starts.
Race 1 - Skerries 2017.
23 June 2017
Our first race of the season saw 7 boats racing between the Island's of Skerries. Lots of wind and big waves made for tough racing conditions but lots of fun was had.
Race 2 - Terryglass
29-30 July 2017
The club was on the road down to the lovely town of Terryglass on the River Shannon for 2 days of racing. The calmer river conditions meant that teams had to adjust their set up but Day 1 was a huge success. The holiday makers of the Shannon hugely enjoyed watching the racing as crowds gathered on the pier. After a socialable evening in the Terryglass Inn Day 2 had arrived. More fun racing to be done!
The Big One! - Howth 2017
23 - 24 September 2017
This would be the biggest powerboat race Ireland has ever seen. OCRI joined up with our UK counterparts OCRDA for an Anglo-Irish meet. 23 UK boats travelled over to race against 7 Irish boats in Howth over 2 days. We had 3 different classes of boats racing. It was controlled chaos and absolutely fantastic fun!
